1. Editorial standards
Our independent editorial content aims to be accurate, fair and clearly sourced. Editors check facts against original sources, official records or the organizations involved, and they cite and link to those sources.
2. Human review and AI-assisted work
A person on our editorial team reviews and approves all content before it is published. Our editorial team may use AI-assisted tools for research, drafting or editing; a human editor reviews, fact-checks and approves every editorial article and remains responsible for its accuracy.
3. Types of content and labeling
- Independent editorial content: news, analysis, guides and features written by our editorial team.
- Press releases and announcements: supplied by the issuing organization and labeled as press releases.
- Sponsored content: paid promotional features, such as Sponsored Travel Features, clearly labeled "Sponsored Content."
- Event listings: supplied by event organizers.
Independent editorial articles are kept distinct from paid press releases and sponsored content, and paid content is always labeled so readers can tell it apart from independent coverage.
4. Editing customer-supplied content
We may make minor spelling, grammar, formatting and readability edits to customer-supplied content. Material edits that would change the meaning of customer-supplied content are made only with the submitting customer's approval.
5. Editorial independence
Independent editorial coverage cannot be bought. Payment never guarantees independent news coverage. Buying a package, or advertising with us, does not give anyone the right to favorable coverage, to editorial coverage at all, or to change or remove independent articles.
6. Our right to approve or decline
We review all submitted content and may approve it, ask for changes, decline it, or remove it later if it breaches our Terms of Service.
7. Requesting a correction
To report an error, contact us with the page address, the statement you believe is wrong, and any supporting evidence or source.
8. How we correct
- Minor fixes such as spelling or formatting may be made without a note.
- Material corrections, which change meaning (for example a figure, name, date or legal status), are made with a dated correction note on the article.
- Updates that add new information are marked as updates with the date.
- Retractions: if an article is fundamentally inaccurate, we may withdraw it and publish a retraction notice explaining that it was withdrawn and, where appropriate, why. We keep internal records rather than deleting them silently.
9. Disputed press-release claims
The issuing organization is responsible for the claims in its press release. If a claim is disputed, we may ask the organization to verify or correct it, add a note, or remove the release. Publishing a release is not an endorsement.
10. Removal requests
We consider requests to remove content case by case. We may remove content that is unlawful, infringing, or that exposes private personal information. We generally do not remove accurate independent reporting simply because someone asks.
